A WEDDING IN THE MITTEN

December 29, 2013

The week before Christmas I traveled up to The Mitten to celebrate my best friends wedding to the love of her life. I flew in right in the middle of a snow storm and enjoyed every second of it. The wedding was sweet and small with close friends and family there to celebrate, and I am so thankful to have been included in the festivities! The day I was scheduled to come home my flight was delayed twice and there was no way I was going to be able to make my connecting flight. Thankfully, the airlines let me reschedule and I made it home right in time for Christmas!

These are some photos from my instagram of my week in Michigan and the wedding. One of the days I was there we went to this little tea room for lunch. The owner was incredibly nice and prepared us the most authentic tea I have ever had, complete with coconut scones and cucumber sandwiches. If you are ever in Sylvania, Michigan make sure to stop by the Sweet Shalom Tea Room, I promise you will love it.

Ice-Day-1021x1024

This past week north Texas experienced quite the ice storm. Stores were closed, school was cancelled, work was postponed. It was pure chaos. However, it was the perfect time to catch up on on Christmas movies and coffee drinking. We own this little beast of a sled that my dad happened to hold on to from his childhood days in the North. It didn’t take long before we found the biggest hill in town and raced our way down. For those of you reading who aren’t from the south, we envy your snow storms. The ability to build snowballs or forts doesn’t exist. Instead, we get cold hard ice….which does make for some beautiful sledding opportunities.
