Florida Through The Insta-Lense

Welp, here are some tiny snippets from my Florida vacation! We spent most of our trip in Cocoa Beach spending time hanging out on the beaches, visiting the pier, and taking frequent visits to Ron Johns Surf Shop. The first day there we drove up to a restaurant on the water where my mom met us with half of our family, who had no idea that we were coming. It was such a surprise and I will never forget the look on my grandparents faces when they saw us all jumping out of the car in the parking lot. The last two days we stayed in Orlando and went to the happiest place on earth, Disney World! The last time I was there I was maybe 9 or 10 years old, and while this time around was a completely different experience, it was just as magical. My favorite part was the electric parade, fireworks, and light-show that they did on the castle. It was so beautiful and magical and perfectly embodied everything that Disney is to me. Have you ever been to Disney World? Disney Land? I would love to explore some of the other parks, as we only spent time in Magic Kingdom. Until next time, Florida!

I am back from Florida! …and just in time to come down with a summer cold. There is nothing to help extend my vacation mood and give me a little pick-me-up like these breathtaking surfboards created for Alexander Wang by Australian brand Haydenshapes. Wang teamed up with Haydenshapes to create five handcrafted surfboards to display in his New York SoHo flagship store. The boards are displayed from a black metal cage with a black wave constructed from black sand swooping behind them. The monochrome marble pattern on the boards were digitally printed onto silk and then onto the hypto-krypto boards to create these stunning visual art pieces. How cool is that? These surfboards are stunning, but I also wouldn’t mind seeing them in action out in the ocean.
