These past few days have been out of control. I feel like maybe I say that a lot….but wow. We have had some sick family members and that combined with some very early morning work hours, plus Woolgather orders, have made me one busy lady. On the plus side, I had the WONDERFUL opportunity this past weekend to go see a family friend dance in the Nutcracker. She played the role of Clara and it took everything in me to keep those tears in my eyes during the production. I am absolutely obsessed with the ballet and it was such a treat to see a girl so dear to my family dance that role. I hope everyone has been celebrating this Christmas season with the appropriate yuletide activities. I am down for the count and will be spending the remainder of my night watching a few Christmas Classics.
I first entered the blogging world when I started reading lifestyle blogs during my lunch break at my first office job. I was amazed and entranced by this group of writers, photographers, designers, and stylists who documented their daily lives and interests. Many of those women were, or came to be mothers, and have shared their stories along the way. I have been empowered and inspired by this community and their willingness to share so much of their lives to their readers and fellow writers. I am also thankful for my own mom who has always been there to encourage and stand by me in everything I do. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you out there, whether you are a mom, hope to be a mom, or are simply celebrating your own mother.

A Merry Mishap is one of my favorite blogs and Jennifer, the author, just so happens to be a mother as well. She has an impeccable eye for design and if you time it right you may catch an update every now and then on her sweet family.

Thanksgiving is upon us! Every year our whole family gathers together to celebrate a day of Thanksgiving. Each year a different family hosts and the rest of us prepare our favorite dishes and bring them along. It’s not Thanksgiving without the annual “Turkey Day Bowl”, a tradition that began a couple of years back where all of the families play to the death in a game of football. I love this time of the year and am so thankful to have all of my family close and together at this time in my life.
