I realized recently that when in a museum I gravitate more easily towards the paintings, usually lending only a brief moment in front of a sculpture. The funny thing is that I love photos of sculptures…why I bypass them in museums and hoard photos of them at home is beyond me. After studying them more closely I became enamored by the beauty, history, and skill that goes into creating these pieces of art. The movement, detail, and fluidity¬†(especially in busts and statues) is incredible. I’m calling myself out on my ignorance and am making a public promise to spend more time in front of them.
